Why it matters
When You Need a Signature Mark
Remote contract approval
Email a contract PDF, get it signed, receive it back — without printing or scanning. FileCrisp adds the signature mark in one click so you can move on.
Quick document sign-off
Internal approvals, purchase orders, form submissions — anything that needs a 'signed off' mark. Add it in the browser and send. No printer required.
Sign images and certificates
Need to sign a PNG certificate, a scanned form, or a JPEG photo-document? FileCrisp handles images just as easily as PDFs, drawing the signature directly onto the canvas.

How it works
PDF Input vs Image Input — Different Output
The type of file you upload determines how the signature is applied and what format you get back.
PDF Input → Signed PDF
The signature marker is overlaid on the PDF using pdf-lib, preserving the original document content.
Image Input → Signed PNG
The signature is drawn onto the image canvas. Output is always a PNG regardless of input format.
