Privacy Policy

The short version

FileCrisp processes every file entirely inside your browser. Nothing you upload, convert, compress, or edit is ever sent to any server. We have no servers that receive your files. We collect no personal data.

What we do NOT collect

• Your files — images, PDFs, or documents you process
• Your name, email address, or any account information
• Your IP address or location
• Cookies for tracking or advertising
• Any analytics beyond what your browser reports to you

What stays on your device

FileCrisp uses your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB to remember two things — which tools you have used recently (so the homepage can show your recent tools), and a temporary list of your processed files in the Downloads section. This data never leaves your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data.

How file processing works

Every tool on FileCrisp — image compression, PDF merging, format conversion, and all others — runs using JavaScript and WebAssembly directly in your browser tab. Your device does all the computation. The processed file is returned to you directly as a download. At no point does any file travel over the internet to FileCrisp or any third party.

Third-party services

FileCrisp loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash for demonstration purposes on the homepage. These services may set their own cookies or log request metadata as per their own privacy policies. No file data is involved in these requests.

Advertising

FileCrisp may display advertisements in the future. If and when ads are enabled, they will be served by Google AdSense, which has its own privacy policy and may use cookies. We will update this policy when that happens. Currently, no advertising is active.

Children

FileCrisp does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The service processes files locally and does not collect personal data from any user regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date below. Continued use of FileCrisp after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
