Using the site

FileCrisp is free to use, for personal and commercial work alike, with no account required. You keep every right you already had in the files you process — we acquire nothing, because we never receive them.

Your responsibility

Only process files you have the right to process. Do not use the site to break the law or to infringe someone else's copyright.

Since processing happens on your device, what you do here is genuinely between you and your files — which makes it your responsibility rather than ours.

No warranty

The tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. They are tested, but no software is faultless and the ways a PDF can be malformed are effectively endless.

Always keep your original file. Some operations are deliberately lossy — compressing a PDF hard turns text into images, and lossy image formats discard data — and none of that can be undone from the output.

Signatures

The Sign PDF tool places a visible mark on a page. It is not a cryptographic digital signature: it embeds no certificate, proves nothing about who applied it, and does not detect later tampering.

If an agreement requires a certified digital signature, use a service that issues one.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up but promise no particular level of availability, and tools may change or be withdrawn.

Because everything runs in your browser, a tool you have already loaded will generally keep working even if the site itself is unreachable.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, FileCrisp is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including loss of or damage to data. This is a free tool with no access to your files; keeping your originals is the only backup that matters.

Advertising

The site carries advertising to pay for itself. Ads never sit inside a tool's working area or above it, and an ad is never placed where it can move a control you were about to press.

Advertisers are third parties. We do not endorse what they advertise, and a transaction you enter into with one of them is between you and them.

Who may use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for weaknesses without asking first, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people. Automated use that is polite is fine; automated use that is not is not.

What belongs to whom

The FileCrisp name, logo, written content and code are ours and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may link to the site freely and quote it with attribution; you may not copy it wholesale or present it as your own.

Your files, and anything you make with the tools, remain entirely yours. We claim no licence over them of any kind, which is straightforward to promise given we never receive them.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the site does. The date above changes with them, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If a change is significant, it will be obvious rather than quiet.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in, and it does not stop you bringing a claim there where that law gives you the right to.

If part of this is unenforceable

If any clause here turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of it stands and that clause is read as narrowly as needed to make it work. Not enforcing something once does not waive the right to enforce it later.
